MOTÖRHEAD's MIKKEY DEE: I Wanted To Play On New KING DIAMOND CD
April 10, 2002Former KING DIAMOND and current MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee was in brief talks to make an appearance on the current KING DIAMOND album, Abigail II: The Revenge, but due to Mikkey' commitment to MOTÖRHEAD, his contributions never took place. “I was actually talking to King about playing on that album, because [bassist] Hal Patino is back in the band,” Dee told Norway's Metal Express. “I speak to [KING DIAMOND guitarist] Andy [LaRocque] every week at least—we go out and have drinks here all the time as we're good friends. So, Andy said 'Oh Mikkey you have to play on that album,' and I was like, 'Yes sure, I'd do that,' but I don't think King wanted it, because he wanted a drummer who can stay in the band for the tour and everything. And I couldn't do that, because we tour with MOTÖRHEAD all the time. But I said, 'If you want help on the album, I'm here'.”
